Foundation

't Klokhuis - a non-profit 501c3 organization - provides education in the Dutch language and Dutch and Belgian Culture (NTC). The school offers Dutch language classes with the same curriculum as in the Netherlands. We embrace all students who would like to learn Dutch and will explore all possiblities to find the right group for each and every student.

To match the Dutch education system we not only teach the Dutch language, but also Dutch and Belgian culture form a major part of our curriculum. The school takes into account the range of diverse backgrounds that the students come from. Therefore, every student is treated individualy at their own level. The progress of the students is systematically evaluated.

Besides our primary goal to help children connect with the Dutch education, there is also the facility for students who wish to pursue Dutch as a second language. In addition, the possibility was created for adults to learn Dutch.

As a school, we respect every religion or belief.

School atmosphere

Most of our students have already completed a full day within the regular American education system. It is therefore important to us that they are educated within a friendly and safe environment with order and familiarity. Only when a child feels safe, can he or she develop fully. Dutch and Belgian culture is fully embraced. Not only do we want a smooth return to the Netherlands or Belgium for all temporary students, we also want the students to stay in touch with their roots.
